I spent much of my childhood drawing Princesses with puffed sleeves whilst simultaneously absorbing a steady diet of Babar the Elephant and Orlando (The Marmalade Cat).  I then went on to gain a Degree in Fine Art Painting.

Following a good deal of time finding my voice in the painting world, I turned my attention to raising my own children and, as many parents do, became immersed in children’s books once again. This refuelled my enthusiasm for drawing, coupled with a new-found interest in storytelling. The Children’s Book Illustration MA beckoned and this course has been both challenging and enormously inspirational in equal measure.

I tend to enjoy drawing children (often my own) and am particularly inspired by the work of John Burningham, Isabelle Arsenault, Julie Morstad and Carson Ellis. My work is created using a number of elements including pen, colouring pencil, collage, monoprinting and finally some Photoshop manipulation.
