Growing up in rural Devon, with my seamstress mother, my house was always filled with animals, half made dresses and fabrics, which instilled in me a joy of the natural world, colour and pattern. I studied BA Illustration at Cambridge School of Art before joining the Royal Drawing School, returning to CSA to pursue my passion; Children’s Books! My work, as a print maker and illustrator is informed by location drawing, on the strength of which I was awarded the Anglia Trust Travel Scholarship. My narrative work is inspired by the natural world, folklore, literature and song. I am particularly interested in engaging children and families with the natural world through illustrated non-fiction.
