My work reflects a childhood of adventures to strange places, den-building and new bonds. I want to create picture books that (like the ones I love) reflect this combination of the surreal, the bright and the tender.
In 20 years as a designer I have made storyboards, title sequences and props for all major TV Channels, more recently moving towards illustration, where my favoured ink pen lends itself to poetry anthologies, wine labels and film posters.
I became a painter 10 years ago in Brazil and continue to make abstract-figurative work in my East London studio. Alongside this MA I am Artist in Residence at a primary school, so I get to share my passion for books, print-making and drawing from life with wonderful children who teach me every day about my new profession.
