I am a freelance illustrator working in Cambridge.
For many years I worked in commercials, directing stop-frame animation, before deciding to dedicate more time to my family and my personal practise as an artist. I spent a year assisting a master printmaker before beginning the MA in children’s book illustration and venturing into the wonderful world of telling stories with pictures.
I love observational drawing and the process of really getting to know a subject through looking and experiencing it first-hand. Most of all I love to draw people and research their stories; big or small; true or imagined.
My latest project is about the caves at Lascaux and our connection to the incredible paintings created 20,000 years ago. It’s been so rewarding to deeply investigate a subject whilst learning about my own relationship to mark-making and story-telling.
