When I was a little girl growing up in Taiwan, my mom bought me Anno Mitsumasa’s book, “Anno’s Math Game” to develop my interest in math. However, it was the illustrations in the book that captured my attention instead. It had a big impact on me and nearly twenty years later, its influence can be seen in my graduation project – a story about tiny people.
My undergraduate degree in Journalism taught me how touching and powerful a story could be. I love drawing and it is the only thing I have never given up. These are the reasons that led me to pursue the MA in Children’s Book Illustration. This course allowed me to explore different ways to tell a story and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The past year and a half was challenging but it also marks the beginning of my great adventure as an illustrator.
