After my Illustration BA, I worked in a post production studio with film directors and digital artists, whilst there I also did research, storyboarding, layout design and photo retouching. This course has helped consolidate my digital skills with the drawings in my sketchbooks.
I enjoy documentaries about people, Japanese woodcuts, comic books and dramatic movies. These all influence my image making and storytelling.
I like the mundane and the dramatic, the surreal and the ridiculous. I favour art that is inclusive and accessible. I am inspired by the work of Raymond Briggs, Grayson Perry and Jeffrey Lewis because of the way they balance sincerity and humour.
I was shortlisted for the Stratford-Salariya Picture Book Prize 2017.
