Born and raised in the United States (Texas, to be specific), I moved to the U.K. five years ago to pursue illustration and create a cozy space to house my book collection in. On my bedside table is a copy of Matilda (Roald Dahl), The Phantom Tollbooth (Jules Fieffer, Norton Juster), and Which Witch? (Eva Ibbotson) which pretty much sums me up in a nutshell. I adore a magical adventure full of wit and monsters alike! My artwork follows a similar vein: lots of black ink lines, tempered with folk-art pattern and wild color palettes in emulsion paint. A strange combination, but one that I have been happily developing over the length of this Master’s Degree course. I intend to pursue my PhD in the next couple of years so that I can become a professor alongside creating books and always be surrounded by people who are as enamored with building literary and visual worlds, as I am.
